The renowned publisher has welcomed Ben Brinkman from the creators of Apex Legends to lead the studio crew at their internal studio, which is currently developing the upcoming over-the-shoulder roguelike extraction-shooter known as this innovative game.

Leadership Transition Comes After Poor Response

The new appointee takes on the leadership position at 31st Union following the departure of previous head Michael Condrey, who was reportedly let go due to Project Ethos' lackluster early showing last fall.

On Wednesday, the company's top executive a key figure updated team members about this decision through an internal memo, which highlighted that playtesting had shown the requirement for a more defined game identity.

The president noted that the team is now reimagining the project with a renewed approach, aiming to better meet community desires.

A Pattern of Strategic Acquisitions

The news mirrors a similar move taken by 2K Games in August, when they brought on Rod Fergusson from the Diablo team to work on the beloved franchise development group.
