The Warrior Group Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the premier party of heroes who will separate from the central cast to begin their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team includes the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Considering a large ensemble, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before splitting into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
Per the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might appear mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
First, the team understands precisely where to head next after a violent initial meeting with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated the foes for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then settled his liabilities and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each character has a individual motive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and best friend, desires vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in the region and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the party access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied the influential house and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is wanted dead by the family.
This leaves them few options but to travel to the remote area in quest for the traitor.
Future Episodes
From episode three’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Seekers and Strategists parties.
